TARGET is one of my all time favorite Grocery stores to shop at especially for beauty products and household supplies.😃 I love how many Cruelty-free grabs Target has today. The best part? They’re constantly expanding their range, adding more and more affordable cruelty-free brands to their shelves. Needless to say, I could easily lose track of time while indulging myself in a lengthy shopping spree at Target!
Target is one of the largest retailer chains, providing easy access to a multitude of people. Within its vast aisles, Target proudly showcases a diverse array of cruelty-free brands, making it a go-to destination for conscious shoppers like you and me.
About this list
Every brand featured on the #EthicalPixieApproved List undergoes a meticulous vetting process, with in-depth research into each brand’s cruelty-free policies to guarantee its full commitment to cruelty-free practices.
While there are currently three major certifications – Leaping Bunny, CCF (Now part of Cruelty Free International), and PETA, it’s important to note that having a cruelty-free certification is not obligatory for brands. This lack of mandate sometimes results in brands falsely portraying themselves as cruelty-free, reinforcing the significance of our independent research.
For brands without a certification but still earning a spot on our list, Ethical Pixie takes proactive steps by reaching out to these brands. We ask the brand specific questions inquiring about their processes, formulas, and their stance on product testing, differentiating between ingredients and finished products. This thorough interrogation ensures that every brand endorsed by Ethical Pixie aligns with our stringent criteria for being truly cruelty-free. Below are the initial set of questions:
- Are your products or individual ingredients within your product tested on animals?
- Do your suppliers or any third party companies test on animals on your behalf?
- Are your products sold in markets where animal testing is required by law (Ex: Mainland China)?
- Is your company owned by another company? If so, can you please specify who?
- Do you have Leaping bunny, CCF or PETA certifications? If not, do you plan on filing for any of these certifications in the near future?
- Do your products contain any animal ingredients or by-products? If yes, can you state where and how the animal by-products are sourced from?
“Ethical Pixie Approved” signifies that the brands are committed to cruelty-free practices! This entails:
- The product undergoes a completely cruelty-free process, meaning there is no animal testing conducted at any stage, including the finished product, individual ingredients, and third-party suppliers.
- The brand is not available for sale in countries such as Mainland China, where animal testing is mandated by law.

Before we dive into the list, I want to share couple of useful tips while shopping at Target:
1. Natural Beauty Aisle at Target:
Shopping for cruelty-free brands at Target is easier than ever now. There is a separate ‘Natural Beauty’ section now. This aisle is filled with only Natural and Cruelty-free products. How great is that!😃

2. Price match check via Online Deals:
I recently found out that Target has some amazing deals online and most of the times, the deal price you see online doesn’t match the price you see at the physical store. But the best thing is you can price match it at the Customer service area. Last time, I was there, I got a $22 Pacifica perfume for only $6.😃

Thank you so much! That means a lot! 🙂
Lumene is a cruelty free Finnish skin care brand that I believe is sold only online (I have yet to see it in stores). I don’t think they’re entirely vegan free, but they make it a point to put how much % of natural ingredients are in their products, and the %s are always in the high end (85% and above).
Hi Rebecca, thank you for pointing that out. Lumene is a great brand, didn’t realize their products are sold at Target. I added them to the list. 🙂 Also, on their website, I see that their products are actually 100% vegan.
