Is Aquaphor Cruelty free?
NO. Aquaphor is NOT Cruelty free! Their products’ ingredients or final products are tested on animals. They also sell their products in retail stores in countries where animal testing is required by law.
Is Aquaphor Vegan?
No, they are not a vegan brand. This means that some or all of their products may contain ingredients derived from animals.
One of the ingredients in this product is lanolin. Lanolin finds its place in skincare and cosmetics due to its exceptional hydrating properties. Essentially, it’s the waxy oil derived from sheep wool. Lanolin can be Cruelty free as long as it’s collected without harming or negatively affecting the sheep.
Nevertheless, since they are NOT a cruelty-free brand, we do not recommend pouring your hard earned money into purchasing animal tested products. Instead opt for these cruelty free alternatives.
Is Aquaphor owned by a parent company that tests on animals?
Aquaphor is owned by Beiersdorf, a company involved in animal testing. Unfortunately, both Aquaphor and its parent company are not cruelty-free.
It’s a prevalent practice in the beauty industry for brands to be subsidiaries of larger corporations, known as parent companies. These entities, often global giants like L’Oreal, Estee Lauder, or Procter & Gamble, commonly engage in animal testing to some extent. Additionally, they may own multiple brands that do not adhere to cruelty-free standards.
Is Aquaphor sold in regions where animal testing is required by law?
All brands owned by Beiersdorf, including Aquaphor, sell in Mainland China. Other popular brands that Beiersdorf owns include Nivea, Eucerin, Coppertone etc.
What is their policy on animal testing?
We couldn’t find an animal testing policy on Aquaphor’s website. The company explicitly states its adherence to animal testing when mandated by law and acknowledges shipping to countries such as China. However, beyond these aspects, they do not publicly disclose their position on cruelty-free personal care.
Despite reaching out to them multiple times seeking clarification, regrettably, we haven’t received any responses.
Is this brand certified by any Cruelty free logos?
Beiersdorf, along with its brands such as Aquaphor, Nivea, Eucerin, Coppertone, and others, does not adhere to cruelty-free practices. These brands are NOT certified by any cruelty free certifications like PETA and Leaping Bunny.
